Senior Managers & Certification Regime

This online course will allow individuals to develop their understanding about the SMCR Regime and compliance.

The Senior Managers’ and Certification Regime is one of the most significant regulatory changes firms have faced, affecting every part of their business.  A joined-up approach from Compliance and HR functions is needed to fully embed these regulatory requirements into business as usual.

This session is beneficial to professionals working in oversight and supporting roles of Compliance and HR, as well as operational roles with responsibility for undertaking Fitness and Propriety Assessments.

This session draws on experience gained in the banking sector to:

• Discuss and debate the key component parts of the Regime, across senior management functions, Certification Regime, Conduct Rules, and The Directory.
• Consider what actions should have been taken in order to embed the requirements as business as usual and discuss current approaches across the industry.
• Discuss the different ways in which the industry has approached the Certification Regime and consider any changes in approach that might be required.
• Consider what existing people policies and procedures have changed.
• Discuss the Conduct Rules and approaches to on-going training and reporting that the regulator expects.
• Discuss “The Directory” requirements and what processes and oversight might be needed to ensure the right information is provided at the right time.
